Zartom - Symphony in G major [four movements: Allegro/ Adagio/ Minuet & Trio/ Rondo]
This full-length classical-style symphony was written during rehearsals for the Weymouth College production of the Marat/Sade for which I wrote many songs and incidental music. I was needed for most rehearsals, but not all the time. To alleviate my boredom I wrote this work, and it was performed each night as a warm-up whilst the audience took their seats.
Flogwang Amusade Zartom is an anagram..... geddit? A well-known classical composer....
The symphony is dedicated to Count Anal von Sharm, also an anagram [Anal=Alan and Sharm=Marsh - the play's director]
Both anagrams reflect [albeit crudely] the nature of the play's chief character, the Marquis de Sade.
